Warden Brian Lammer turned off the heat again... in the midst of a pandemic... with elderly prisoners in this unit... with temperatures now in the 40s and dropping to the 30s by Friday---according to the forecast in my most-recent issue of The Indianapolis Star.
I am an engineer from Massachusetts. The notoriously-cold 9-South SHU at MCC New York didn't freeze me. I'll be fine. The older gentlemen in this unit, however, may not be.
This is wrong. It is cruel. It is unusual. It deserves condemnation. Warden Brian Lammer made rounds through this unit this morning; so, it is also deliberate.
