We were locked down all week so the gallant Justice Department could demonstrate that murder is wrong by committing cold, premeditated, homicide against three (3) citizens strapped helplessly to a gurney.
I can only contrast a scene from Joss Whedon's Firefly, wherein outlaw-Captain Malcolm Reynolds says to Simon Tam, βYou don't know me, son, so let me explain this to you once. If I ever kill you you'll be awake. You'll be facing me. And you'll be armed.β
I am also reminded of George Carlin's spiel on capital punishment, specifically the part about, "the bankers who launder the drug money." Carlin assumed they were Republicans. Nowadays, however---after Eric Holder's antics---it seems far more likely those bankers are Democrats.
I further note that although some self-described Christians cite The Old Testament to support, "an eye for an eye," one notices that modern American Jews quite conspicuously bring no such claim therefrom. Of course, demanding such retribution is also quintessentially incompatible with the teachings of Jesus Christ (who was executed). See Matthew 5:38-39 and 7:1-2; Mark 12:28-34; Luke 6:27-40; and John 8:3-12; inter alia. (This is not to imply I'm Christian---I am a lax Jew---but, rather, that my Protestant mother insisted on Sunday school, where I occasionally paid attention.)
